An extensible scaffolding post e.g. with a lower tubular member and an upper channelsectioned member slidable thereon has a pin for supporting the upper member, the pin comprising two portions, e.g. 10 and 11 arranged one on top of the other, with interengaging sloping longitudinal faces, and whereon means are provided to connect the two portions together, and to prevent one portion of the pin being detached sideways from the post. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, the portions 10 and 11 are of angle-section, the interconnecting means consists of a peg 14 and a slot 15, and the locating means of ribs 18a and 18b, the pin being released by hammering on one end face 10a of the portion 10. In the embodiment of Fig. 4, the portions are of rectangular section, and each has two tapered faces, e.g. 12a and 12b; the interconnecting means is a yoke 14 fixed to portion 10 and slidable on portion 11, and the locating means comprises ribs 25 and 26 on portion 11. Both pins have means for locking the portions together when the pin has reached its operative depth; in the embodiment of Fig. 2 a peg is inserted in aligned holes 17 and 16, and in the embodiment of Fig. 4 a lower 20 with a protruding lug (22), Fig. 5 (not shown) is pivoted until the lug engages a groove (23) in portion 11. |
