A housing has a pump chamber and an outlet, with the chamber having a section with a conical shape, and the outlet located at a narrow end of the section. An impeller is rotatably located in the chamber and the impeller has a conical section with at least one logarithmic spiral groove along an exterior of the conical section. A front is located at the outlet which is smooth shaped with the groove not extending to the front. The impeller is spaced front he housing along the conical section with a constant gap.
