PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct optical time division multiplex processing in the optical time division demultiplexer while compensating a drift at an operating point as to the optical time division multiplex signal. SOLUTION: The optical time division demultiplexer 1 is provided with a clock signal generating section 2 that generates a clock signal for optical time division demultiplexing processing for a received optical signal and with an optical switch 3 applying time division demultiplexing to the optical signal based on the clock signal, and with an operating point stabilizing control circuit 4 in which a prescribed low frequency signal set in advance is superimposed on the clock signal for the optical time division demultiplexing fed to the optical switch 3, and the clock signal fed to the optical switch 3 and which controls the clock signal fed to the optical switch 3 so that the operating point on the operating characteristic of the optical switch 3 is made constant based on the phase difference between the prescribed low frequency signal component in the optical signal after optical time division demultiplexing processing by the optical switch 3 and the set prescribed low frequency signal component.
