PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of obtaining extremely good images without forming interference fringes and any image defect even in the case of using a light source probable of causing interference. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is provided between a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer with an interlayer containing >=2 kinds of inorganic pigments different in average particle diameter from each other and at least kind of inorganic pigment among them has a primary particle diameter of <=0.1μm and at least one kind of inorganic pigment has a primary particle diameters of 0.1-1.0μm and these latter particles are contained in the interlayer in an amount of >=10weight%.
