PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts in an external drive circuit and to facilitate high definitional formation by converting an output from a latch circuit storing the data synchronized with the output from a horizontal scan circuit to an analog signal and selecting signal transfer switches. SOLUTION: For a first horizontal scan period, a latch selection pulse is made high, and the digital video data are transferred to first data latch circuits 8, 10 synchronized with the output of the horizontal scan circuit 2. For the next horizontal scan period, the latch selection pulse is made low, and the data are transferred to second data latch circuits 9, 11, and simultaneously, the outputs of the data latch circuits 8, 10 become an enable state, and a video signal is converted to an analog signal by D/A converters 12, 13. One of the transfer switches is turned on by a transfer switch selection means 16, and the analog signal is transferred to a vertical signal line. For a third horizontal scan period, the data are transferred to the data latch circuits 8, 10 again, and the data held by the data latch circuits 9, 11 are written in pixels. |
