PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the grades of importance of words and phases by extracting the words and phrases from text data without requiring such information that is judged and prepared by a human being nor judgment by the human being. SOLUTION: A device for extracting word and phrase analyzes the language of text data and extracts one word or phrase from the data based on the results of the analysis. Then the device calculates a plurality of temporary grades of importance based on the characters, part of speech, or the clause information of the word or phrase and synthesizes the temporary grades of importance into one temporary grade of importance at every appearing position of the word or phrase through monotonous operation. Thereafter, the device calculates the true grade of importance of the word or phrase by synthesizing the temporary grades of importance of the word or phrase individually calculated at a plurality of positions in the text data through monotonous operation. Therefore, the processing from the extraction of a word or phrase to the calculation of the true grade of importance of the word or phrase can be executed mechanically and, in addition, the various kinds of data required for the processing can be prepared mechanically without requiring judgment by a human being. |
