STENT WITH WORKED CONTOUR AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intensify a load bearing ability by constituting a contour-worked stent of at least one supporting component materials having at least a first surface, second surface and third surface and three round edges formed at the points where the respective surfaces meet each other. SOLUTION: The stent 10 includes five segments 12a to 12e. The respective segments are made of endless metallic loops which are bent to form plural straight segments or struts 13. These struts 13 are integrated by curved parts in an axial line direction or crowns 14. As a result of the contour working treatment, the upper part and bottom part are nearly flattened and/or the surfaces of the upper part and bottom part exhibit nearly the same absolute radius of curvature. The contour working treatment moves the materials from the neutral axis and side parts of the supporting members to the regions, where more stresses are applied on the stent within the circumferential plane, upper part and bottom part.
