PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic acceleration sensor that is suited for a seismometer operating at a low power consumption. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element, which is deflected by the action of acceleration is prepared, electrodes A1-A9 are arranged on the upper surface, and a common electrode B is arranged on a lower surface. Normally, a switch 181 maintains an open state and a group of main detection elements 160 are in dormant state. Power is constantly supplied to a sub detection element 170 and an electric charge generated by the electrode A9 for monitoring is given to a terminal Tm via an amplifier 171. When the signal of the terminal Tm exceeds a threshold due to the initial vibration of an earthquake, the switch 181 is closed by a control signal and power is supplied to a group of main detection elements 160. An electric charge is generated due to the operation of each acceleration constituent in the directions of X, Y, and Z axes is given to terminals Tx, Ty, and Tx via amplifiers 161-163 and is detected by a computer 180. |
