IMAGE CODEC PART AND IMAGE DATA ENCODING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image quality adjustment for a designating part by dividing image data into designated macro blocks based on the position and size of a macro block area and undergoing image data encoding of each divided macro block. SOLUTION: A variable macro block designating part 9 counts data clocks CLK through frame synthetic data that is acquired by a frame synthesizing part 5, operates line information of an input frame area and sends it to a screen splitting part 10. The part 10 divides an image which is undergone format conversion from a format converting part 8 based on the line information and the size information of each macro block and sends image data to an encoding part 11 that is a subsequent stage. The part 11 performs encoding in accordance with the size of a macro block. Because an area except an area that is surrounded by a designated square is encoded in a rough macro block in this way, encoded data quantity in this area is decreased and a frame rate is increased for that.
