摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an electric discharge amount and to extend the life of a charging/discharging cycle by forming a paste type positive electrode where a mixed agent containing nickel hydroxide and a cobalt compound is carried to a conductive base board and the cobalt compound forming a paste type positive electrode which is a β type cobalt hydroxide having a half value width of a peak of a surface 001 by powder X-ray diffraction set to a particular value. SOLUTION: A paste is prepared by kneading particles using β type cobalt hydroxide as a main component and a binding agent under the existence of water, the β type cobalt hydroxide having the half value width of a surface 001 in particles using nickel hydroxide as main components and a particle X-ray diffraction 2θ using Cu-ka rays as an X-ray source set below 0.40. For the binding agent, for example, carboxymethyl cellulose, polyacrylic salt or fluorine contained resin is used, and a positive electrode is made by filling and drying the paste in a conductive substrate made of nickel or stainless based on pressure molding. Alternatively, a positive electrode is made by preparing a paste by kneading composite nickel hydroxide particles.
