PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control pressure resistant performance of components to be small, and uniformly and surely execute maintenance to all nozzles, by providing a nozzle head communicating with a common ink-storing chamber, an ink- pressuring means and a cap which can shut the nozzles, and constituting so that the maintenance can be carried out separately for each of the components. SOLUTION: The printer is provided with a nozzle head having a plurality of ink-jet nozzles arranged in a longitudinal X direction and communicating with a common ink-storing chamber, an ink-pressuring means for increasing an ink pressure in the ink-storing chamber, and a cap 220 which can selectively shut a part of the ink-jet nozzles. Maintenance to all of the ink-jet nozzles arranged in the longitudinal direction can be carried out separately in a plurality of number of times. The cap 220 comprises a tightly sealed, hollow cylindrical body 231 turntable about an axis XO, a plurality of suction openings 221A-221C penetrating a circumferential face of the cylindrical body 231 in a diametrical direction, and projecting parts 223A-223C which can shut a part of ink-jet nozzles at an outer circumferential face of the cylindrical body. |
