PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device capable of preventing the contents of display from being complicated and enabling a driver to always easily observe the display and easily grasp the display contents. SOLUTION: An optimum value for the number of display elements to be displayed on one picture is inputted by an input part 2. A map information arithmetic processing part 3 reads out map data corresponding to a current position or an optional position detected by a vehicle position detection part 1 from a map data storage part 4, automatically controls respective display elements based on the number set by the input part 2 and prepared deformed map data. An output part 5 displays the deformed map prepared by the processing part 3.
