PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerative burner which is capable of preventing localized heating of a heat storage body and protecting the heat storage body from being cracked by heat stress or the like and operating a stabilized operation in an attempt to extend the service life of the heat storage body even in the case when a fluid, which is passing through the heat storage body, forms non-uniform flow distribution. SOLUTION: A heat storage type burner is provided with a combustion air passage 13, which forms a passage for combustion air and exhaust gas, a heat storage body 17 provided on the combustion air passage 13 and a combustion air spray opening provided on the end of the combustion air passage 13. It is also arranged to preheat the combustion air with the heat storage body 17 during main combustion and pass the combustion exhaust gas by the heat storage body 17 and recover the heat with the heat storage body 17 except for the main combustion. In this case, at least one multiple perforated board 12 is set up between the heat reservoir 17 in the combustion air passage 13 and the combustion air spray opening where the multiple perforated board 12 is designed to diffuse the combustion gas which passages through the combustion air passage and straighten the flow of the gas.
