PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress an optical surge while keeping the switch performance of an optical cross connector by inserting an optical surge suppression part at the prestage of an amplifier part. SOLUTION: The optical cross connector 10 is provided with an M×N switch part 3 and the amplifier part 4 amplifying and outputting signal light from the M×N switch part 3. In addition, M and N are optional natural numbers not smaller than 1. Then the part 3 is provided with a route switch part 1, a first wave synthesizing part 2 and an optical surge suppression part 5. Namely the part 1 switches each route of M-number of signal light wave-divided by M-kinds of wavelengths to each of N-kinds of routes. The part 2 wave- synthesizes the signal light with the M-kinds of wavelengths by each of N-kinds of routes switched by the part 1 and N-outputs them. In this case, the part 5 is inserted at the prestage of the part 4 to suppress the optical surge of the signal light outputted from the part 4. |
