PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inorganic electrode active material having a high energy density and excellent cycle and self-electric discharge characteristics so as to provide a safe and stable secondary battery by substituting a transition element for the particular amount of manganese atoms of LiMn2 O4 and halogen and/or sulfide atoms for the particular amount of oxygen atoms. SOLUTION: An electrode active material represented by an expression is used. In the expression, A denotes a transition element, B halogen and/or sulfide; a is 0<=a<=1.0; x is x<=0.1; y is 0<y<=0.1. Preferably, an electrode contains 80 to 99wt.% of an inorganic active material in the expression with respect to its total weight except an electrode collector. The energy flux density of the electrode is reduce below 80wt.% and its formation is difficult above 99wt.%. If the electrode contains a conductive auxiliary material and a binder in addition to such an inorganic active material, the electrode is effective as a positive electrode. |
