PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hypotensive agent free from any side effect by containing, as an active ingredient, an extract resulted from subjecting Carapanauba bark to extraction by water and/or an organic solvent. SOLUTION: This hypotensive agent as brown-colored powder is obtained by immersing dried bark of Carapanauba in water and/or an organic solvent such as methanol and refluxing all night long followed by distilling the solvent off. |
