PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicine having inhibiting action to activity of urease produced by Helicobacter pyrroli and effective as a preventive or curing agent for gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, etc., by containing an extract of Saigon cinnamon as an active component. SOLUTION: This urease activity inhibitor is obtained by subjecting dried substances of leaves, barks, branches, roots, etc., of Saigon cinnamon as an evergreen tree belonging to family Lauraceae to a pretreatment such as shredding or crushing to obtain a powder-like state and extracting the resultant powder of 1 kg with 5-50 L of water or a mixture of water and a lower alcohol such as methanol or ethanol at 30-100 deg.C. |
