PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of detecting whether a seat is seated or not, so that whether a seated person is an adult or a child can be discriminated. SOLUTION: This seating detecting device comprises an on-seat pressure sensing switch PSSb mounted in a seat base to detect whether press down force is provided or not, a means PSSc for detecting whether a back rest of a sustance is existed or not in a seat back, an on-floor pressure sensing switch PSSa for detecting whether press down force of a foot is provided or not, and a seating decision means whereby, based on these detection signals, adult seating signal is generated when all the three signals are provided, the other seating signal is generated when the detection signal of the switch PSSb and the detection means PSSc are provided, and a non seating signal is generated when all the three signals are not shown. The switch is formed as a flexible sheet-shaped pressure sensing switch where conductors 1a, 3a are insinuated for coming into contact and separating in accordance with a deflection between flexible films 1, 3. |
