PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side air bag whereby sure efficient inflation and miniaturization of an inflator can be attained though cost is reduced further with a constitution simplified. SOLUTION: An inflator 4 jetting a pressure fluid is stored in a supply part 3a, a body protecting part 3b communicating with the supply part 3a is extended toward the car body forward from the supply part 3a, a head protecting part 3c communicating with the body protecting part 3b is extended toward the car body upward from the body protecting part 3b, a total unit is formed in almost an L shape, also by a pressure fluid jetted according to action of the inflator 4, after inflating the body protecting part 3b, so as to inflate the head protecting part 3c, in a boundary part between the body/head protecting parts 3b, 3c, a fuse sewed part impeding introduction of the pressure fluid to a prescribed pressure in the head protecting part 3c is provided, also the head protecting part 3c, after it is superposed together in the body protecting part 3b, is stored in an air bag device in a folded or wound condition. |
