摘要 The metod and "Optic position Sensor" (apparatus described herein will detrmine (diferentially from two optic detectors located at one point is space) the angle between the "Optic Position Sensor" and a specific target )either an actively modulated light source or reflected image of one) as referenced to the detector's zero degree axis without employing any moving (wearable or life-limiting) parts. Alternatively, if the target is bound to transverse a known path which is perpendicularto the zero degree axis of the "Optic Position Sensor" its lateral displacement can be calculated by multiplying the targent of the target's angle by the minimum (zero degree axis) distance between the "Optic Position Sensor" and the target's expected path. And, since the described ,method and "Optic Position Sensor" works in a differential mode with modulated light emitters and a synchronous demodulator, its output is not subject to changes of ambient light levels or the absolute or variable levels of the modulated light source.
