<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove an offensive smell by mixing ozone with air containing an offensive smell generated by the microbiological treatment of garbage and supplying spray water to that air. SOLUTION: Microorganisms decomposing and digesting a garbage component are supported on granular matter such as sawdust to be housed in a stirring tank 2 and garbage is charged in the tank 2 to be treated. An acid for neutralizing ammonia is preliminarily mixed with the water 35 in a water tank 27. Then, an offensive smell component generated by garbage treatment is sent to a deodorizing route 20 along with air in the stirring tank 2 by a sirocco fan 30 and, after dust is removed from this air by a dustproof filter 21, the filtered air containing the offensive smell component receives ozone from an ozone generator 31. By this constitution, the offensive smell component is oxidized and eliminated. Subsequently, the water in the tank 27 is sprinkled within a vertically long pipe member 26 from a spray nozzle 32 to neutralize contained ammonia by an acid in strinkled water. By this method, an offensive smell is dissolved in water and can sifficiently be oxidized by ozone to be deodorized. Ammonia can also be neutralized and deodorized.</p> |
