PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic latent image developing carrier having an ability of giving adequate and stable charge to the toner and capable of keeping its ability for a long period and preventing formation of the spent carrier caused by attachment of the toner to the surfaces of the carrier particles and also preventing attachment of the carrier to image parts. SOLUTION: The electrostatic latent image developing carrier obtained by forming a resin coating layers on the surfaces of core particles are manufactured by mixing a matrix resin and its solvent and an electrically conductive powder to prepare the coating solution for the resin layer and coating the surface of each core and drying each to remove the solvent and heat-treating the obtained resin layer at a temperature higher by 60-150 deg.C than the glass transition point of the above matrix resin.
