A separation device the comprises a unending conveyor belt which supports a belt or filter belt. The suction boxes to extract the filtrate is placed in lateral positions of the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt laterally projects towards the continuous groove of the empty box. In a large separation installation with long conveyor belts and filter belts, lateral displacements of the belt and conveyor belt occur during operation, for which the seal becomes a problem. These problems are resolved according to the invention in that the suction box has a sealing member which is connected in the lateral edge of the conveyor belt and this sealing member is laterally displaceable.
