The invention relates to a method for splitting up a honeycomb panel, which comprises a sheet of honeycomb material with a cover layer on both sides. According to the invention, during the splitting up each cover layer is cut from the outside of the honeycomb panel to the inside in order to flange the cover layer in situ to the inside. The invention also relates to separators for glass sheets which are obtained by applying the method according to the invention, and to separators provided with a special coating.
