An improved process for the profound hydro-desulphuration of diesel to diminish its sulphur and aromatic content which comprises the stage of catalytic reaction and a stage of product separation characterized putting into contact a hydrocarbon load constituted by a liquid mixture of liquid gas oil and light cyclical oil with a gaseous mixture of fresh hydrogen and hydrogen recirculation to temperatures of 360 to 380 degree C and operating at pressures of 80 to 85 kg/cm2 in the presence of a catalyst and continued by separating the products, recuperating the bitter gas, gasoline and diesel, the latter with a sulphur content not more than 500 parts per million.
