A cosmetic stick (10) has a housing shaft (12) and a front housing (14). A cosmetic lead (24) may be adjusted in relation to the front opening (40) of the front housing (14) by means of a driving element (22).For the cosmetic lead (24) to be moved both out of the housing and back into the housing, the driving element (22) is designed as a tubular lead holder (26) that can be axially moved in opposite directions in the front housing (14). The cosmetic lead (24) that projects out of the lead holder (26) is secured by a rear fastening section (42) to the lead holder (26). In order to ensure a free play between the cosmetic lead (24) and the front housing (14) or its opening (40) at all times, the outer surface (34) of the cosmetic lead (24) is aligned without any gradations with the outer surface (32) of the lead holder (26). The outer diameter of the outer surface (34) of the cosmetic lead (24) and the outer diameter of the outer surface (32) of the lead holder (26) correspond to the clear inner diameter of the opening (40) of the front housing (14) of the cosmetic stick (10).
