The present invention is a method to prepare a copper phtalocianine pigment in its beta form consisting of the stages of: the dry grinding of the impure copper phtalocianine to a temperature between 110 and 200 degree C and the transformation of a crystal in its form (alpha) to a crystal in its beta form through the treatment of the mixture (alpha)- beta resulting from the copper phtalocianine in an organic solvent or a water liquid mixture and an organic solvent. The method of preparation of the present invention offers a copper phtalocianine pigment in its beta form a low cost and with an equivalent or superior quality so much as in coloring power, definition fluidity and tone in comparison to the pigment that is produced by the saline grinding method with a conventional solvent.
