<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate a printing mechanism part and to enable anyone to reuse an electronic paper by using a display which can be bent like paper and displaying at all times the received information while the light serving as the energy source of a power supply. SOLUTION: If no information is received from a host terminal 13, a controller 21 functions to display the contents of the print information which are sent in the past, i.e., the contents of the character or image information which are already stored in a nonvolatile display memory 22. When a print instruction is given to a host terminal, the print information is sent to the normal controller 21 via an infrared signal transmitting/receiving part 2 and then an interface circuit 20. Then the print information is stored in the memory 22 and also shown on a display 4 which can be freely bent like paper. The display data once stored in an electronic paper never vary until they are printed out. In other words, the printed-out display data are semipermanently kept as they are as long as the light energy is supplied to a solar battery.</p> |
