PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably record a clear and sharp image having high transparency by using a specified yellow monoazo pigment compsn. as a coloring material. SOLUTION: This coloring compsn. contains a coloring material and a resin. The coloring material is a yellow monoazo pigment compsn. contg. 99.8-80mol,% yellow monoazo pigment represented by formula I and 0.2-20mol% yellow monoazo pigment represented by the formula I but different from the above- mentioned monoazo pigment in substituents and/or yellow monoazo pigment represented by formula II. The pigment compsn. may be treated with rosin or a known treating agent if necessary. In the formulae I, II, each of X1 -X3 and Y1 -Y3 is H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C fluoroalkyl, etc. Since the pigment compsn. has high coloring power, clearness, sharpness and transparency and is excellent in fastness such as resistance to light, heat, chemicals and water, a colored material is stably produced.
