PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous solvent secondary battery with high capacity and long life by specifying the filling density of the negative electrode in the battery having a pellet-shaped positive electrode, a pellet-shaped negative electrode containing a carbonaceous material capable of absorbing/releasing lithium ions and a binder, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: A pellet-shaped positive electrode 3 is housed in a positive can 1 through a positive current collector 2. A separator 4 is placed on the positive electrode 3, and a pellet-shaped negative electrode 5 is placed on the separator 4. A metal lithium foil 6 is pressed against the negative electrode 5. A nonaqueous electrolyte is impregnated in the positive electrode 3, the negative electrode 5, and the separator 4. After the aging of a battery, the metal lithium foil 6 is absorbed in the negative electrode as lithium ions. The positive electrode 3 is manufactured by kneadirig an active material, a conducting material, and a binder, and molding the kneaded material in a pellet. |
