PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high efficiency and high-speed rotation and remove step out by judging the direction with the pulse signal that a position detector rotating in linkage with a stepping motor has generated, according to the rotational position of the rotor, and detecting the position of a rotor, and applying currents to a motor coil by the output from the reference value being made of the value of a rotor position detecting circuit at the time, when the rotor becomes stable so as to drive it. SOLUTION: The rise and fall of A and B phases of a two-phase encoder are made into pulses including the judgment of direction, and the position of a rotor is detected with a rotor position detecting circuit 14, and a signal for current application is produced corresponding to a two-phase bipolar coil. Currents are applied to the coil, and the positions where the rotor stops stably are detected for each coil at normal rotation and at reverse rotation, so as to lighten the effects of frictional load. Making use of the microstep drive of a stepping motor, the quantity of distribution of current application for each coil is changed arbitrarily to enable the stop at optional positions. Consequently high efficiency, high-speed rise and fall, and the high-speed rotation of a DC motor are materialized, and the dissolution of the step-out of the stepping motor, the reduction in the noise, the reaching at high-speed to the objective position can be made. |
