The electric radiator for an electric motor vehicle comprises a supply circuit (3) managed by a principle switching system (14,19-21). The circuit is supplied with power by a source (4) which provides current to a radiating element (2) which is electrically and thermally conducting. This may for example be made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy. An auxiliary element (9) is provided, made of a memory shape material which is able to change state. This element acts within the supply circuit (3) acting to prevent or authorise the supply to the element (2) when it crosses a first temperature threshold (S1). The element changes between a fixed rigid state and a non-rigid state according to the temperature. Its operation may be controlled by a rotary switch.
