PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide security and reliability in speaking by reporting a response soon after the transmission of 1st voice message to a caller and continuously sounding a calling bell within set time, when a callee does not directly respond within a previously set number of times of sounding the calling bell. SOLUTION: When it is confirmed that a portable telephone set receives a terminated call, it is discriminated whether or not an automatic reception mode is turned on. When the automatic reception mode is not turned on, the calling bell is sounded in normal call terminating state. When the automatic reception mode is turned on, the calling bell is sounded as well and the callee is urged to respond. It is discriminated whether or not the callee responds within the number of times of sounding the calling bell previously set by the callee. When the callee responds, a speaking state is provided by stopping sounding the calling bell. When the callee does not respond, the calling bell is sounded the previously set number of times and afterwards, the portable telephone set is automatically turned to call incoming state. |
