PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insensitive squib which eliminates the need for skilled work in production with simultaneous operability and moreover, achieve higher safety with easier maintenance control by enabling series connection of a plurality of units with a smaller power source without malfunctioning. SOLUTION: This insensitive squib 10 has a metal cylinder 4 filled with a powder 5, an insulating body 2 which is fitted into the metal cylinder 4 and pierced by a pair of electrode conductors 3 and a heating body 1 comprising a thick film resistance provided at a bridging position of the pair of electrode conductors 3 on the surface of the insulating body 2 in contact with the powder 5. The resistance value of the heating body 1 is preferably 0.5-2.0Ω.
