摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the luminance of a liquid crystal panel by forming a light quality control section in a dot shape on the side near the back light on at least one side surfaces of a diffusion plate. SOLUTION: A diffusion plate 4 is formed on a light transmission body 5. Then, a light quantity control section 4a is formed in a dot pattern by printing on the end section side near a back light source 8 of one of the surfaces having no antidazzle characteristic. The dot pattern of the section 4a is constituted of the material having a slight light transmissivity. Therefore, a portion of the light beams from the source 8 passes the section 4a and is made incident on an upper lens sheet 3. The remainder beams are reflected by the section 4a and are irregularly reflected in the inner section of the body 5. Note that the sizes of the dots forming the section 4a are made larger as approaching to the tip part in the vicinity of the source 8 and are made successively smaller as departing from the back light light source. Thus, the 'dazzling' bright lines in the position near the edge sections of the liquid crystal panel are eliminated.
