PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multicolor image of high quality by excellently developing a latent image formed on an image carrier, without causing a color mixture, with plural nonmagnetic one-component noncontact developing units arranged in the vicinity of the circumference of an image carrier. SOLUTION: When a photoreceptor drum is preliminarily rotated before an image process for the first color is executed, a prescribed electrostatic latent image of a potential Vff is formed on the photoreceptor drum. This latent image is developed under the application of the DC developing bias of a VDC, in a state where the developing sleeve of the developing unit is not rotated, by the developing unit used in an image forming process after the first color, out of four nonmagnetic one-component noncontact developing units disposed in the vicinity of the circumference of the photoreceptor drum, to remove toner on the developing sleeve. |
