PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording material which has adaptability to CDs(compact disks), forms a characteristic having a sufficient contrast by cooperating with the irradiation with an incident laser, and nevertheless, has optical stability and incubation stability and has necessary optical characteristics. SOLUTION: This recording element is constituted by having a transparent base body and a recording layer and a light reflection layer on this base body. In such a case, (a) the real number part (n) of the refractive index at 780nm with the unrecorded layer of this recording element is >=1.8 and the imaginary number part (k) thereof is <=0.15, (b) the recording layer contains tetra dyestuff of >=1 kinds of metallized diazo dyestuff and cation dyestuff and (c) the thickness of the recording layer is 225 to 300nm. |
