PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieving device for allowing a consumer to quickly and easily retrieve desired merchandise information, and for allowing a presenter to present merchandise which can be provided to the consumer without making any special effort. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a retrieval instruction executing means 1 which executes a retrieval instruction based on a retrieval expression described based on a certain schemer, and a schemer managing means 3 which manages a rule for converting the retrieval expression into another retrieval expression based on a prescribed rule for allowing the retrieval instruction executing means 1 to execute prescribed retrieval based on the retrieval instruction. The retrieval instruction executing means 1 retrieves desired information based on another retrieval expression.
