The nut (20) is formed from two half nuts (24) assembled together along the diametral joint plane to define an interior threaded surface (34) with a given axis (X-X) arranged to cooperate with the thread of a screw (12). It also contains a driving sleeve (22) containing an interior housing for receiving the assembled nut. The nut and the drive sleeve possess respectively an exterior surface (32) and an interior surface (42) of complementary form to allow the axial introduction of the assembled nut into the housing of the sleeve and their rotary immobilisation. The nut contains elastic retainers (38,50) capable of being deformed when the nut is introduced axially.
