The invention concerns the use of an extract of the Cordia dichotoma plant as active principle of a cosmetic composition for fighting against skin ageing effects, in particular by preserving or enhancing the biomechanical properties of the skin, particularly its elasticity, by delaying the occurrence of wrinkles of decreasing their depth, and by improving skin firmness. The invention also concerns the use of an extract of the Cordia dichotoma plant for preparing a pharmaceutical composition, particularly dermatological, for treating the effects of intrinsic or actinic skin ageing, said extract being incorporated in a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. |
