A mould of variable width is claimed for the continuous casting of metal products, notably steel, of the type incorporating two large walls (1, 1') situated at a fixed distance from each other and two smaller moveable walls (2, 2') connected to the large walls (1, 1') and for which the separation defines the width of the casting space (4) delimited by the walls (1, 1', 2, 2'). Each of the large walls (1, 1') incorporates a device assuring its lubrication by an injection of oil across the large wall (1, 1'). The device consists of one or more orifices putting the casting space (4) into communication with a distribution chamber (9, 10) cut into each of the large walls (1, 1') and some means for partially obstructing these orifices in a manner that avoids a flow of the oil from the casting space (4) when it is not given its maximum width. |
