摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability and low-cost module by forming a ferrule holder for inserting a ferrule, to which an optical fiber is fixed, by sintering metal powder. SOLUTION: Light emitted from a light emitting element 1 is converged to the core part of optical fiber 6 by a lens 3. In order to adjust the positions of the convergent point and optical fiber 6, the direction of an optical axis is adjusted by an element holder 4 and a direction vertical to the optical axis is adjusted by adjusting the position of the ferrule holder 5. After position adjustment, the optical fiber is fixed by adhering, soldering or fusing. In this case, the ferrule holder 5 is sintered and molded by placing the metal powder in a metal die and the one with the inner diameter accuracy 1μm is formed by sintering. Besides, because of mold working by the metal die, mass productivity is improved as well and a lot of ferrule holders can be produced at a low cost. Therefore, in the case of making into module, since the inner diameter accuracy of the ferrule holder 5 is high, coupling dispersion caused by the insertion of the ferrule 7 is reduced and the characteristics of high efficiency and satisfactory reproducibility can be provided.
