The yellow filter layer lying below a blue-sensitive emulsion layer and above a green-sensitive emulsion layer in an Agx photographic material contains a dye of formula (I) and/or (II). R<1>, R<3> and R<5> = alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; R<2> and R<4> = H or alkyl; and R<21>,R<22> and R<23> = as for R<1>, R<2> and R<1> respectively; and with the proviso that in (I) none of R<1> - R<5> = alkyl with more than 3C.
