The method involves selecting at least one parameter necessary for a wash process and influenced through it, from a predetermined range defined at least through maximum and minimum values. The parameter is adjusted within the preselected range limits for the continuation of the wash process, dependent on at least one detected parameter. A predetermined range is selected at activation of the dishwasher without a previous selection of a range.
