Pigments with improved dispersibility in thermoplastic resins

A pigment material comprises an inorganic pigment having deposited on it (a) a partial ester polyol and (b) an unsatd. monocarboxylic acid treating agent of formula (I). R(OH)xCOOR' (I) R = 2-20C alkyl or aryl; R' = an unsatd. 6-20C alkyl; and x = 2-6. Amt. of (a) and (b) deposited on the pigment is 0.1 wt.% Also claimed are the following: (1) prepn. of a pigmentary material for comprising depositing (a) and (b) on an inorganic pigment; amt. of (b) being 0.1-5 wt.%; and (2) prepn. of a pigmentary material by pretreating a pigment material with (a) and (b).
