The device mounts an evaporator (10) in a casing (24) having a rectangular base (26) and an upper opening, which is closable by a cover. A major surface (12,14) of the evaporator is guided in the region of its connection to a lower surface (16) by guide members (42,46) along at least one long side (44,48) of the casing base. At least one bearing member (56) is attached to the cover and can contact an upper face (18) of the evaporator. The guide members preferably have ribs running along the casing base.
