Clamping chuck for workpiece handling

The chuck acts as grab or holder, and has two coaxial relatively turnable chuck bodies, which define a holder channel (2) for a workpiece. Clamping elements within the channel consist of elastic or elastically mounted tapes or belts. When the clamping chuck bodies are turned relative to each other, the tapes create a constriction (9) of the channel for clamping of the workpiece. The constriction diameter is continuously adjustable. When the clamping chuck is open, the tapes extend parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction of the channel along its outer wall, and are fastened to both chuck bodies.
