<p>The machine has a circular knife (2) driven by an electric motor (22) and a holder (3) for the material to be sliced moving along an electrically-adjustable stop plate (5). A clamp (1) swinging upwards for the material is provided on the holder and swings upwards. The output of the detector for the position of the clamp is connected to a control system (19,21) for the knife motor and the adjusting drive (20) for the stop plate. This shuts off the motor and moves the plate into a position covering the knife when the clamp is swung into the upper position. The detector can comprise a magnetic strip below the truck and extending in its travel direction, working with a reed contact (17,18) fixed in the housing. With the clamp in the lowered position, the strip is retracted from the contact, being coupled to the clamp by a cam or lever.</p> |
