The step-up transmission has a spur gear (1), a planetary gear (2) and two chain wheel gears (3,10). An input shaft (35) is connected to one of the chain wheels, and an output shaft (37) is connected to the spur gear. Each chain wheel gear has a chain pinion (11,12) and a chain wheel (13,14). The chain wheel gears are each provided with a chain adjustor (24) and at least one of the adjustors is operated from outside the casing (21) of the gearbox.
