PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and device for hash value generation which never lower a process speed and have high safety. SOLUTION: A hash function is actualized which compresses a message M when the message M is given so that some kind of cipher characteristics are obtained. In this process, an injective enlarging process which inputs division data of the message and outputs longer data is performed, and a multiplying process and cyclic shifting processes which are different in shift number are performed. Consequently, the hash function can be made fast as compared with a conventional repeating method for simple compression of message division data.
